Support & Help
How to get support
Send an email to bevans18@hotmail.com with your question. It helps if you include:
- Your iPhone model and iOS version
- The app version (find it on the app's Settings screen)
- The name of the walk, and roughly when you sent it
- What you were trying to do, and what happened
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with no signal?
Yes, for the part that matters. Recording notes and shooting photos is entirely on the phone — no signal, no data, nothing leaves the device. That is the whole point: most of the buildings worth walking have no bars in them.
The one step that needs a connection is Send it at the end of the walk. Do that from the truck. If it fails, everything is still on the phone and you can send again later.
What do I actually get?
Two files, emailed to you a few minutes after you send the walk:
- A PDF — the report you forward to the estimator or the GC.
- A Word file — the same report, editable, with the full word-for-word transcript of every note at the back.
Both are also kept in the app under Reports, so you can pull them up again or share them from your phone.
Does the app decide what's a problem?
No, and this is deliberate. It organizes what you said and files it by area of the building. It does not price anything, judge anything, or recommend anything, and it will not tidy "maybe eight, nine feet" into a measurement you never took. If it is in the report, you said it — and every line carries the number of the note it came from so you can check.
Read it before you forward it. It goes out with your name on it.
How do I tell it something is important?
Say so out loud. "Flag that", "that's going to be a problem", "make a note of this" — anything like that promotes the note onto page one. There is no button, because there is no taking your glove off on a roof to press one.
How do I say I couldn't get into somewhere?
Say that out loud too. "I never got into the third floor, the property manager didn't have the key." The report will show that area and mark it Not covered on this walk. A floor you were locked out of and a floor that doesn't exist look identical in a report that just leaves both out.
Do I need to tag which room I'm in?
No. Just say where you are as you walk — "alright, we're up on the roof now" — and the report is filed by area in the order you walked it.
What does it cost?
The first three buildings are free. After that you buy credits in packs. One credit covers a whole building, not one visit: go back four times, re-issue the report three times, it is still one credit. Credits never expire and there is no subscription.
I went back to the same building. Do I pay again?
No. Use Add to a walk on the home screen instead of starting a new one. It picks up the same building, keeps the address and drawing set you already typed, and re-issues the report as v2 covering both visits. Re-issues are free.
Can I record with gloves on?
Honestly: only a touch-capable glove. A leather or cut-resistant glove registers nothing on a phone screen at any button size, and no app can fix that. The buttons are sized for a cold, wet, one-handed thumb, which is the realistic case.
Can I keep recording with the phone in my pocket?
Yes — recording continues with the screen locked. If a call or an alarm interrupts it, the phone buzzes and posts a notification saying which note was cut short, so you find out in your pocket instead of back at the truck.
Do my photos end up in my camera roll?
No. Photos taken in the app stay inside the app and are never written to your iOS photo library.
How long does the battery last?
Continuous recording, the camera, and a bright screen in the sun will drain a phone over a long walk. Nothing is lost if it dies — every note is written to the phone the moment you stop recording — but start a big building with a charge, or bring a pack.
How do I delete my account and everything in it?
Settings → Delete account, inside the app. That removes your account, your walks, your transcripts, your photos and your reports from the server. It cannot be undone.
